The unique dining experience extends further with our customers’ delightful feedback. Enthusiast Hank K. raves about the “saucy gnocchi,” while Mike R. highlights the convenience of ordering from the walk-up window, served in a nostalgic Chinese takeout container. Although some might find the tomato sauce reminiscent of Chef Boyardee, it pairs beautifully with the star of the show—those stunning gnocchi.
“The texture is perfect, cheese is always a must," said customer Jane G., who also warned fellow diners about the spiciness of the red pepper flakes—a fiery addition that elevates the dish but requires caution. Each bite promises a delightful surprise, satisfying you even on the hottest of days, as noted by Saya Y., capturing the magic of enjoying such comfort food on the bustling streets of Montreal.
With a reputation for quick and friendly service, Drogheria Fine ensures that every visit is a memorable experience. It's a must-visit for anyone in search of authentic Italian comfort food. So, whether you’re a local or just passing through, don’t miss out on this extraordinary spot that captures the heart of Montreal's foodie scene.
“ That saucy gnocchi is the real deal (just be careful not to add too many chilli fakes. I was fighting the most brutal battles on the toilets throughout the whole trip thanks to it). ”
“ Heard about Drogheria Fine's gnocchi, so decided to check it out. It's a great cheap eats (at only $5 Canadian for a portion) made freshly, plus ordered and served through the window. Quickly served in what could be described as a Chinese takeout container with the option for chopsticks to eat, you'll find sidewalk seats adjacent to enjoy your order. Selected Drogeheria Fine's own tomato sauce, which I found sweet like Chef Boyardee Spaghetti-Os, taking the experience down a notch. The gnocchi, however, was amazingly soft small pillows of pasta, which I really enjoyed. It was topped with a healthy portion of cheese. Next time, I'll opt for Drogheria Fine's spicier sauce option and stick to whatever non-chopstick utensils may be available (i.e. a fork or spoon) to simplify the eating experience. ”
“ I think this is the gnocchi soup kitchen. Just soup $5 or $6. Long lines. Too much for one meal. A highlight ”
“ I loved the gnocchi I had here! It's a simple walk-up window with a limited menu: gnocchi with a tomato sauce and cheese, with options to add extra cheese or spice. I will say that the spice (red pepper flakes) makes it insanely spicy, so beware. Served in a chinese takeout container and chopsticks, this place is a can't miss in Montreal. ”
“ Had this on a hot humid day and ate it on the street sweating and it was absolutely worth it. The dish is so delicious and seems simple but has so much depth to the flavor. The texture is perfect, cheese is always a must, and free chopsticks felt like my time to shine. Super quick and friendly service and a steal of a price. Definitely recommend, and def will be back when I'm in town. ”
“ THE best meal in all of Montréal. There's something about $5 gnocchi in a chinese takeout container that is just so good. I came on a weekday during lunch and while there was a line, it moved quickly. While Drogheria isn't a proper restaurant, there are benches outside for you to eat on. Pro tip; grab a bagel from Fairmont next door to dip in your leftover sauce from the gnocchi! ”
“ Such a cute delicious experience. Literally a hole in a glass wall, this small shop sells one thing but does it amazingly well, gnocchi in tomato sauce. The gnocchi is neither too hard or too soft but made to succulent perfection in a "imported from Italy ripe tomato" sauce. Orders are made and delivered quickly with pleasant service. Full plates are under $5. This place is simple, delicious, and a find. ”
“ December 2022: Prepare to wait in line. I like that they have a very simple and straight-forward menu. They take cash only, but will take debit cards! The gnocchi seriously comes out piping hot that we had to use our winter gloves to hold onto the takeout boxes. The portion is fairly generous for a snack, but not enough for a full meal. ”
